New Toy – Android Mini iMito MX2

  • Compare it to UG007, the build is better and it came with an extra micro USB port.
  • From my understanding it’s the same as iMito MX1 with different casing.
  • No artifact defect like the UG007 which is good.
  • I got the device updated to Bob’s Finless ROM 1.5 720p version. 1080p lag.
  • The device run well, but there are some random blackouts. Screen would disconnect then reconnect.
  • The device run from warm to hot in the tight casing.
  • Wi-Fi is better than with UG007 but you won’t get full bars.
  • The kernel is in desperate need of an update, it’s on 3.0.8.
  • I tested streaming 1080p MP4 and it play well.
  • Don’t bother with portrait games. The screen get cutoff.
  • It’s hard to read in some apps due to lack of font resizing.
  • For it’s purpose it’s an OK device until the manufacture decide to release the source.

  • The random blackout seem to be signal problem because I was using 720p kernel with 1080p setting.
  • Once I set the output to 720p, the blackout disappear.
  • I’ve tried RKRemoteControl app and it’s pretty cool.
  • You install it on iMito MX2 and other android device(s).
  • I have my phone and tablet controlling iMito MX2 on TV at the same time.
  • It’s good for turn base game with multiple people taking turn on their device.

SanDisk Ultra 32GB microSDHC & 64GB microSDXC Tests

If you are looking to make a bootable Android card for Nook devices, the SanDisk Ultra card will suffice. Both SanDisk Ultra 32 and 64 microSD cards have fast small block read and write even though the 32GB card fare a little better. 64GB card is formatted as exFAT and can be formatted as NTFS. As a warning, CyanogenMod or AOSP doesn’t support exFAT so your card will be damage if used. You’ll need recovery app to recovered lost data on computer or use “chkdsk X: /f” (Where X is the drive letter of your sdcard) in command window. You can use a partition app to format the card to FAT32 PRIMARY.

If you are looking to purchase the card for camera and other storages, you will be pleasant with its fast read and write speed.

Know that the values for read and write are not constant. The values below are ball park values to give you a good estimate of the read and write speeds.

New Toys – Android Mini UG007 w/ Mele F10 Air Mouse

  • Initial impression?
  • Wifi signal is weak (around 1-2 bars 12/54mbps) within 30 feet of router.
  • I’ve seen artifacts popping up in games and settings.
  • Device doesn’t get hot, a little warm in my 30 minutes test.
  • Mele mouse need some adjustments.
  • It’s running on RK30 Android 4.1.1 SDK 1.00.1015.
  • It’s not bad so far, it need to be updated and it have a lot of potentials.

Drawing Surface

This is my drawing surface if anyone is curious. I have a Dell manual over the Bamboo MTE-450A. Initially, I was drawing on the actual Bamboo surface but the surface eats away my pen tip (nib) quickly. I started using a piece of paper over the surface, but after some usages, the paper gets distorted. I started using a Dell manual over the surface and so far, it’s good. The manual doesn’t eat away the nib as fast as on just a piece of paper or the actual surface. My Bamboo preference is Mouse Mode with acceleration off.
